BACK TO SCHOOL

I never thought that my simple wish to be a student again will happen this year. Though I got my Bachelor’s degree many years ago, I still crave to go back to school for further knowledge. As they said, learning should not stop after graduation but it should be a continuing process.

I’m thankful I have a job. I can’t deny how my present work helped me to gain additional skills, techniques and lots of experience. The enormous lesson I learn for each day of expediting my responsibility in the office is somehow categorized as an application of what I master during my college days and a training ground for new ventures. With all this realities presented to me, my dream to step once again in the school as a student keep lingering inside of me. I missed the feeling of having fun inside the classroom, chit-chatting with seatmate while waiting for the teacher, reviewing the lessons as a preparation for mid-term and final exams and trying to absorb each subject within a limited period of time.

Wohooo…Finally, I am a school girl again.

By the way, please forgive me if I keep on saying ‘school’ when the actual class doesn’t take place in any University but rather in a leased building. It doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care about the place as long as I can learn something new, as long as there is a knowledgeable teacher who’s willing to share his/her wisdom, and as long as I’m driven to accomplish my studious desire. All I wanted is to utilize my time to implant useful insights that I can apply to my actual work preference.

The Filipino community in UAE, especially those new student like me should be grateful to Digerati founders for organizing such association who’s mission and vision were extended in helping/teaching our fellow kababayan in different walks of life. They were offering 10 weeks short training course that will enhance our career advancement. It won’t affect any office hours as the classes start between 8am-4:30pm of Friday. Yey, so my weekend afternoon is dedicated for my schooling session.

As of this writing, we need to be ready because exam and recitation is set next Friday. Wohooo…. estudyanteng-estudyante ang dating! I felt a bit of jittery when our teacher announce that she will bring index card next week. It reminds me of my High school and University days when we’re all busy in scanning every page of the book to entrenched our awareness. I hope this time ‘no more standing’ if ever we can’t answer the question. Nakaka-excite na nakaka-tense. Good luck to all of us.

I’m pretty sure that along with my classmates we’re all hoping to enjoy each classes and  have fun while learning. It was also an opportunity for us to meet new friends and acquire some familiarity and expertise on our chosen course. Peeps, another simple dream come on my way….achieve my goal ‘coz I’m back to school.

WEEKEND AT THE MANSION

For the past weeks, stress keeps challenging my hectic schedule in the office. It reminds me to always bring an extra box of effort to stay balance despite of unfavorable situation. As expected, there’s no room for gloomy days as everything turns into normal mode again and we’re now enjoying the smooth-sailing of activities. In line with such moment I got an invitation from our family friend who resides in The Mansion to come over on weekend.  Wow, I don’t know if it is a treat but I think this is what I badly needed–a simple leisure. Its really amazing how the universe surprise me with all this things. I am thankful enough for receiving such sweet delight at the right time.

Around 09:30am when we leave for our weekend escapade. A big wide smile from our dear friends and cousin greeted us . It serves as our mini-reunion because we don’t see each other for a long time. Though we wanted to meet up on a regular basis our jam-packed everyday lives laidback our intention. So this particular weekend gave way to finally be free and have a golden time to reunite again.

Imagine the last time we’re complete was during the celebration of Christmas Eve last year. Other than that our schedule doesn’t permit us to even have a following meet up. Since it took half a year before we got free time to bond, its coherent how we wanted to filled joyful memories that day. From breakfast to lunch to snack till dinner we’re all having an annex heap of kwentuhan. We never run out of energy. Each one has a stories to share. It only show how time flies and how we really miss our Dxb group.

Happy Weekend-ers!!!

Happy Weekend-ers!!!

Spending my weekend at The Mansion is truly rewarding. More that the relaxation I got from our unexpected get-together I have more reason to be thankful for there was something in our Dxb group that remain unchanged –the unity and friendship exist albeit of less meet up. Till next time!

BER-MONTHS EXCITEMENT

Happy Ber-months!

If there are particular period in a year that gives excitement to everyone I think its the advent of ber-months. There’s a lot of event we’re looking forward during this time.  And I’m one of those people who was keenly delighted for each gala that could take place in this last quarter of 2013.

Here are my 8 reason why I am ablaze to have this feeling:

1. Yuletide Season

One whole day of festivity but for many Filipinos, it becomes a month-long celebration. Who doesn’t feel the atmosphere of Christmas as early as September? I maybe working on this day (its a regular day in the Middle East) but still I’m on a high spirit to celebrate the forthcoming of this phenomenal occasion. Advance Merry Christmas to all!

2. Women’s and children Cabin extension

No  more ‘siksikan‘ in the metro during the rush hour as they provide another cabin especially for women and children. Last Sept. 1, RTA launch a new rules of extending double seat availability for girls. Now, we can truly enjoy the ride without stepping into other’s feet. As a frequent Metro traveler, I salute all those personnel who come out with this bright idea that women’s and children are still on high priority.

3. Eid-Al-Adha

Before the much-awaited birthday of Jesus, everybody is elated for upcoming 3day Eid celebration here in UAE. So am I. For now there’s no concrete plan of what we will do but I am hoping it will lead us to discovery of new places.

4. School Days

Not only the younger generation are prepared for the opening of new academic year 2013-2014 because recently I enrolled in a weekend class. Yehey, my long-time dream to go back to school will effectuate in a weeks. Oh yes, I am not only a fulltime employee but at the same time a regular student.

5. GITEX

Gitex is an annual gathering of well-established electronics retailer in the country whereas gadget of latest trends was available at very affordable price. I let it pass for many consecutive years but since I need to purchase new mobile (as requested by my brother) I reserve to buy it during this time for more choices as well as getting a good discount.

6. Celebration of Existence

No wonder why September to December seems to be a month of celebration, it is where most of my family member, cousins, friends and even myself was a ber-month babies. Hurray to our birthday month. We have more reason to celebrate as well as more get together coming on our way.

7. Winter Lover

Time to take all winter clothes from the closet. I may not be living in a snowy country but for people like me who resides in Middle East, I prefer the goodness of winter. It is a perfect moment to go out and savor the outdoor affair. The sun will temporarily lie low while giving way to chill break. Then I can shout: Goodbye Summer, Hello Winter!

8. Vacation, Vacation, Vacation

Yes, another vacation was due for me on the last quarter. It only means I will be back home again. Yipee, I have an opportunity to re-unite with my family and friends. Booking my ticket, shopping, airport greet and meet, and landing to my homeland gives me more sense to smile. Feeling excited counting every single day! Wohooooo!

Let’s stay blessed and happy while tracking the Ber-months!!!!!!!!!
